Dir. Belk, CEO of the National Center for Children and Families (NCCF), a private, non-profit child and family social services agency that, since its origin in 1914, has annually propelled more than 53,000 youth and families into an improved quality of life through a wide continuum of services, including emergency shelter and short-term family housing, high-intensity adolescent community living, and therapeutic foster care and adoption and academic and cultural enrichment for students facing poverty. Before being elevated to CEO, Dir. Belk served as Executive Director for 18 years, participating as a member of the executive management team for agency wide decision-making, problem solving, planning and evaluation of agency problems and policies. And, locally and nationally, he promoted the societal and community need to support healthy child and family development and counteract the negative impact of their social and economic challenges.
A native Washingtonian, he is a licensed social worker with over 32 years of administrative and direct experience in working with high-risk children, youth and families. He graduated from District of Columbia Public Schools, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Texas Christian University, and received his Master of Social Work from Case Western Reserve University.
